When Lorena arrived at the women’s prison in Posadas, Argentina, she felt empty and unsure of how to rebuild her life. Though she attended church services, she struggled with anger, fear, and a deep sense of emptiness—until she began studying Crossroads lessons.

Five months later, Lorena says God has changed her from the inside out. She now rises early each morning to pray and read Scripture, often inviting others to join. Lessons like the Parable of the Prodigal Son and Psalm 139 helped her see God’s love and forgiveness in new ways. As she studied, old patterns of anger and impulsiveness began to break. “I used to explode,” she said. “Now God helps me respond with simplicity and peace.”

Studying God’s Word with the help of Crossroads gave Lorena hope and a new purpose. She was baptized last October, calling it “the happiest day of [her] life,” and has become a source of encouragement for the women around her. She actively invites newcomers to join the program, reminding them, “If you’re here, it’s because God saved you from something. It’s never too late to return to Him.”

One of the greatest blessings for Lorena has been her Crossroads mentor—someone on the outside who cares deeply for her spiritual growth even without knowing her personally. This connection reminds her that she is not forgotten.

Lorena’s story is a powerful testimony to the healing and hope God’s Word and Crossroads mentors bring inside prison walls. But none of this would be possible without the support of donors and volunteers who make the ministry’s work possible.

You can make a difference today. By supporting Crossroads, you help bring light and life-changing hope to men and women around the world like Lorena who are searching for a second chance.
