As the end of the year draws near and the holidays begin to fill our days and minds, I want to share a story that left a profound impact on my heart.

From 2003 to 2006, I served as a chaplain in a federal women’s facility. Within that prison was a hospital where 30–40 women passed away every year. When families did not—or would not—accept their remains, it fell to me to conduct their funerals and burials.

On one of these occasions, I found myself standing alone at a gravesite. There was no family, no friends, no one to bear witness to this woman’s life. I could not let her be buried without acknowledgment. She was someone’s daughter, sister, perhaps even a mother—and yet, in death, she was utterly alone.

Sadly, this is a story that is far too common.

I often think about how her life might have been different if she had experienced the support of a Crossroads mentor. What if she had known the comfort and peace of Christ in her heart? No one deserves to be unknown, forgotten, or discarded—yet this level of loneliness and isolation is repeated tens of thousands of times around the world.

That is why Crossroads exists.

As a supporter of Crossroads, YOU help break through the pain of loneliness. You connect men and women in prison with caring mentors who remind them they are not alone. Together, they lean on God’s Word and experience the hope of Christ.

This holiday season, will you help bridge the gap for those still waiting for connection?

Your generosity helps ensure no one is left alone, forgotten, or discarded. Instead, they are connected with mentors who remind them of God’s loving care and walk with them as their lives are transformed.

Current Needs

Support Sending Bibles Internationally

$25 sends one Bible to a student overseas. Last year, Crossroads distributed nearly 3,500 Bibles internationally.

Sponsor Lessons for Students in the United States

$1,150 provides lessons for 10 students for one year.

Strengthen the Mission through Ministry Support

$100–$5,000 helps sustain critical needs such as technology, postage, Department of Corrections partnerships, and other daily operations. We are praying God will provide $575,000 by January 1 to continue reaching students in 2026.

Thank you for prayerfully considering how you might support Crossroads’ mission. Together, we can ensure that no one in prison is ever forgotten, and that each person has the opportunity to encounter the transforming love of Christ.
