When all seems lost, the Rock still stands.
At Rock Bottom, the Stone Has Been Rolled Away
On Easter morning, hope broke through the darkest place imaginable.
The tomb was empty. The stone was rolled away.
For many men and women in prison, life can feel like that tomb—dark, silent, sealed off from the world. But the risen Christ still meets people there. He still calls their names. He still brings freedom where there are walls and light where there is despair.
At rock bottom, Jesus becomes the Rock that never fails.
Through your partnership with Crossroads, this Easter truth is reaching people behind bars every day.
“He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire;
He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.”
—Psalm 40:2 (NLT)
Forgiven, Not Forsaken
On the Cross, Jesus took our place—and in return, gave us the gift of forgiveness.
This Easter, we remember that those in prison are forgiven, not forsaken. Your gift helps students find their footing on the solid Rock of Christ, even when their world has fallen apart.
Dedicate a Gift This Easter
With your gift, we invite you to include a personal message, prayer, or dedication to encourage someone in prison. Every word reminds them they are seen, loved, and not forgotten.

A Student’s Story of Hope
“In my darkest hours, tormented by the trauma that I caused to another… I thought there was no hope and that I could not be forgiven. But Jesus showed me how much I was loved.
“Because of my sins against others, my friends and family all abandoned me. I had no one and was in a place where violence is common and expected. Then I signed up for Crossroads. The mentors are great and helped me grow into a better man. As I began to walk in faith and obey the Scriptures and God’s Word . . .”
—Shawn H., Crossroads student, Ohio
Easter in Prison
Easter in prison is unlike anywhere else. There are no lilies or sunrise services—but there is Resurrection power at work in hearts the world has forgotten.
Behind those walls, the message of Easter meets people at their lowest point—broken, regretful, yet deeply loved and never beyond redemption. Many carry heavy crosses: shame, loss, broken relationships, and regret. But the empty tomb declares:
Your past does not define your future.
Jesus didn’t rise for the perfect. He rose for the broken—for those the world gave up on. And He still walks through locked doors today, not to condemn, but to say, “Peace be with you.”
Even at rock bottom, there is a Rock that holds firm.
Through your partnership, the message of freedom, forgiveness, and new life is reaching people behind bars this Easter.
The stone has been rolled away. Freedom rises.
Give today and help share Easter hope with someone at rock bottom.
Your generosity helps lift up someone at rock bottom.
