When someone in prison asks for a Bible lesson, a mentor, or a word of hope, they are reaching out because they believe their life can still change.
That belief is powerful—but it needs people like you behind it.
Across the United States and around the world, men and women are waiting for someone to walk with them as they discover God’s truth and begin a new story. Through Crossroads Prison Ministries, your support makes that possible.
At the midpoint of the year, we’re inviting you to see how your generosity meets real needs in the lives of students. Whether your gift is $10 or $1,000, it meets real, practical needs that allow men and women in prison to grow in faith, experience dignity, and share hope with others.
Here are 7 ways your giving supports Crossroads:
1. Lessons
Your gift helps print and distribute Bible study lessons that guide students through Scripture in a clear, accessible way—often for the very first time.
These lessons are used not only in U.S. facilities, but also by Crossroads partners around the world who are bringing the Gospel into prisons in their own countries.
“The light I received from the lessons and feedback encouraged me beyond words . . . I’ve started sharing what I’m learning with others.”
– Michael J., Michigan
Each lesson helps someone grow in faith and discover God’s truth.
A gift of just $115 can send a student lessons for an entire year.
2. Postage
Many people in prison earn between $0.14 and $1.41 an hour, making the cost of stamps a serious obstacle. Thanks to generous supporters, Crossroads provides postage-paid envelopes so students can continue their studies without cost.
“I am indigent and cannot afford postage. Thank you for sending a prepaid envelope.”
– John, Indiana
Your support provides postage-paid envelopes so students can:
- Return completed lessons
- Receive personal encouragement from mentors
You help remove obstacles so students can continue their journey.
A gift of $1.07 covers postage on one return envelope, allowing a student to continue their studies without worry.
3. Certificates:
When students complete a Crossroads course, they receive a certificate of completion—a tangible affirmation of their effort and growth.
For many students, this is one of the few formal recognitions they’ve ever received.
Your generosity helps restore dignity and remind students that their work—and their lives—matter.
4. Mailing Supplies
Behind every lesson, certificate, and letter are simple but essential materials.
Your generosity helps provide:
- Envelopes
- Paper and printing
- Packaging for ministry mail
These supplies keep communication flowing between students and mentors.
Just $150 covers a day’s worth of envelopes.
5. Mentor Support
At the heart of Crossroads is a simple but powerful model: each lesson is forwarded to caring mentors who read, respond, and encourage our students through written correspondence. When you support Crossroads, you help equip mentors who walk alongside students.
Mentors remind students:
- They are not forgotten
- Their lives matter
- God is still at work
Your gift helps recruit, train, and support mentors so that students experience consistent encouragement rooted in Christ.
6. Access to Corrections Leaders
Crossroads’ ministry depends on trusted relationships with corrections leaders and prison administrators. These partnerships allow our mail to enter facilities and expand access to students who might otherwise be unreachable.
7. Digital Development: Strengthening the Future
As Crossroads continues to grow, strong digital systems help us steward resources wisely, communicate clearly, and support mentors, donors, and partners around the world.
Your generosity strengthens the infrastructure that allows Crossroads to:
- Support U.S. and international partners
- Coordinate lessons and materials
- Sustain growth with integrity and care
