Five Days of Prayer: Day Four

A prayer for those seeking a new way of life

Dear Lord,

Today, we ask You to be with all those behind bars who yearn for a better path for their lives. Be with those who recognize that their best efforts have failed miserably.

Lord, make Your presence known to each person who turns to You in the desperate realization that they have exhausted all options. We know that someone is hitting rock bottom in a cell right now, facing the reality of their dire situation. If they call out to You, we know You will hear their cries. You will be faithful to them. Be with them as they surrender to You for help, healing, and a glimmer of hope that they can face a future of court proceedings and time behind bars.

Dear Lord, please put caring people in their lives who will help them make choices that honor You and commit to prayer and the study of Your Word as they seek to rebuild their lives.

Amen

“Jesus said to them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.’” – Mark 2:17

“When I thought my life was falling apart, it was actually falling into place”

Victor was raised Catholic, but he never opened the Bible and read it himself.

Later in life, when he finally opened a Bible, Victor found himself with a long list of questions.

As time went on, his list of questions continued to grow. He tried other religions, drugs and alcohol in his search for meaning and fulfillment, but nothing stuck.
