ONE-TO-MANY MENTOR COURSES

God loves you. That is the theme of this first set of courses. When students have completed the Core Program, they will have a basic understanding of Jesus’ life, God’s love for them, the attributes of God and God’s plan for salvation. When students are done with this introductory coursework, they will be able to describe what happened in Jesus’ life, identify verses that point to who God is and describe the Gospel to those around them. They will also understand who they are in God’s eyes: men and women worthy of God’s love.

Students who sign up for the program at a jail will begin with The Three Big Questions, a condensed, single-lesson version of the first course, Who Are You?, designed to allow them to complete a course before transfer or release.
Students who remain at their facility for at least three months will continue with the full Core Program.

Core Program Courses

Who Are You?

This course introduces students to the truth that God loves them and assures them that if they follow Christ, they can experience a new, full life through Him. The course centers around the big questions in life from a biblical perspective: “Who am I?,” “Why am I here?,” and “Where am I going?”

The Three Big Questions

This course is specifically designed for use in jails. It condenses the content of our course Who Are You? into a single lesson, allowing a student in jail, who normally would not have enough time to participate in the Crossroads program, to finish a full course.

Who Is Jesus?

This course provides an overview of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It teaches students the good news that Jesus was not just a teacher or a prophet; He is fully God, fully man, and the reigning King over all creation.

Students with more than 18 months remaining will take What Is a Mentor?, a one-to-many mentoring course that prepares them to continue studying God’s Word in the Growth Program with an assigned one-on-one mentor.

Returning Home

Students who indicate that they will be released within 18 months of completing the Core Program will take Returning Home, Crossroads’ reentry course. This course is designed to help students create a release plan guided by their relationship with Christ.
