Gabriel’s Story:
Freely Giving His Testimony

Gabriel had a rough childhood. With an abusive and absent father and no role models, Gabriel began using drugs as a preteen. His addiction derailed a promising football career and brought him down a path that led to multiple stints in jail and prison.

It wasn’t until his most recent incarceration that God really got his attention. After giving his life to Jesus, Gabriel enrolled in the Crossroads mentorship program, which strengthened his faith and drew him closer to God.

“Crossroads continued to cultivate my relationship with God,” he said. “The Bible studies helped me develop a better life than the same doom and gloom of the prison environment.”

Gabriel has since been released from prison. He has a steady job, he’s sober, he’s working to restore his relationship with his children and he is giving back as a Crossroads volunteer mentor.

“I was once in there too, so I would like to help people by sharing about my life,” he said. After encountering the generous love of God that transformed his life, Gabriel now generously shares his story with others.
